Emergency Surcharge for Sea Freight Imports and Exports Effective from 1 June 2018
Thursday, May 31, 2018Over the past days, we have received a number of notices that all main carriers (globally) will be implementing a form of Emergency Surcharge effective from 1 June 2018. The name of the Surcharge varies between sea freight carriers. It is related to a global increase in fuel prices.
The Emergency Surcharge ranges from USD50 to USD95 per TEU and will be applied to all sea freight trade lanes for imports to and exports from Australia.
Further, we have received information on a charge also for LCL shipments, but we are currently awaiting confirmation on that.
The team at C.T. Freight will be in touch with customers impacted by these changes.
If you have any questions or require further information, please contact your C.T. Freight service person or send us an email: webenquiry@ctfreight.com.
